Here at Silicone Wristbands Direct, we specialise in providing high quality charity wristbands, which for those of you who don’t know, tools to help raise awareness and money for some great causes. Throughout the past fifteen years or so, these kinds of wristbands have been helping raise money and awareness with tremendous effect. Some even went on to be famous, such as the Livestrong bands made famous by Lance Armstrong, and the black and white stand up to racism bands endorsed by Nike. While the attention these charities receive is great, it can often take a while before they really get the attention they deserve. That’s why we thought it might be a good idea to highlight some of the charity events happening this month, so that we do our part to raise as much awareness as we possibly can to these great causes.
Dyspraxia Awareness Week 11th – 17th
Dyspraxia is a nasty piece of work that targets the motor skills of children and adults alike. Commonly associated with Developmental Coordination Disorder, this condition is a neurological disorder in which brain messages aren’t accurately transmitted to the body, affecting the planning of movements and co-ordination.
Last week, the Dyspraxia Foundation set out to draw attention to the condition and raised as much funds as they could to help those afflicted with it.
National Adoption week 19-25th
Today kicks off the national adoption week and the charity First 4 Adoption will be taking the reins by highlighting the importance of adoption and asking people across the country whether 4 years old is too old for adoption.
It’s an important issue as there are literally thousands of children in this country who don’t have somewhere to call home and would do anything to have a home filled with loving, caring people to take care and look after them. However, as the child gets older, the tendency is that their less likely to be adopted, if they are at all.
That’s just October– each month of the year is filled with different events and charities asking us all to participate to help raise awareness, all you have to do is look!
Of course, if you’re looking to help raise awareness for your charity, our silicone wristbands will do the job superbly. For more information on what we can do for you, contact us on 01524 848382 and speak to one of our friendly team members!
